INDIANAPOLIS – The RMU men's soccer team has been projected to finish seventh in the Horizon League for the 2024 season, according to the conference's preseason poll, conducted by Horizon League head coaches.
Defending regular-season champions Oakland were selected as the preseason favorites, garnering three first-place votes and a total of 75 points.
Cleveland State came in second with one first-place vote and 73 total points, closely followed by 2023 Horizon League playoff champions Green Bay, who tied with IU Indianapolis for third place. Both teams earned 71 points, with Green Bay receiving three first-place votes and IUI securing one.
Purdue Fort Wayne and Wright State each also received one first-place vote, rounding out a competitive top half of the poll.
The Colonials enter their second season under Head Coach
Jonathan Potter, following a 2023 campaign in which they finished seventh in the league standings with a 5-6-5 overall record and a 3-4-2 mark in conference play.
