MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The nominees for the 2025 Hobey Baker Memorial Award have been announced. Sophomores
Michael Craig and
Walter Zacher are among the nominations representing the Colonials.
Craig, a captain for RMU currently leads the team in assists with 13 and has logged four goals, totaling 17 points. Since last season, he's appeared in all 62 games for RMU, producing four goals, 23 assists and 27 points. On the defensive end, he's blocked 66 shots in his career.
Zacher, currently leads RMU in goals (11) and ranks third in the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) conference in that category. This season, he's posted six assists as well, reaching 17 points. Since the 2023-24 season, he's appeared in 56 games, registering 16 goals, 23 assists and 39 points.
Awarded annually to college hockey's top player, the Hobey Baker's fan-voting will run from Wednesday, January 22 until Sunday, March 9 at midnight. College hockey fans can cast their vote by going to the voting website
hobeybaker.com/vote. Throughout phase one of voting, video highlights of each of the nominees will be featured on
Instagram.
Phase two of fan balloting will feature the Top Ten Hobey Baker finalists beginning March 19 and closing March 30. The fans' vote accounts for a percentage of the total ballot in each phase in selecting this year's award recipient.

The 2025 Hobey Baker Award winner will be announced from a field of three Hobey Hat Trick finalists on Friday, April 11 during the NCAA Frozen Four Championship in St. Louis, Mo. The award ceremony will be broadcast nationally on NHL Network and streamed live at
