MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU softball team has announced its 2025 schedule, as revealed by head coach
Jexx Varner. The Colonials will take the field for 54 games, including 24 Horizon League matchups, as they aim for another successful campaign.
Tournament Play to Open the Season
The Colonials kick off their season in February with a month of tournament play:
- Gardner-Webb Tournament (Feb. 14-16) – Boiling Springs, N.C.
- Murray State Tournament (Feb. 21-23) – Murray, Ky.
- Virginia Tech Tournament (Feb. 28 - Mar. 2) – Salem, Va.
- Nashville Doubleheaders – Lipscomb (Mar. 7) and Belmont (Mar. 8)
Horizon League and Non-Conference Action
RMU's conference slate begins with a home series against Oakland (Mar. 14-15) at the North Athletic Complex. Notable non-conference matchups include a doubleheader vs. St. Francis (Mar. 18), and games against Pitt (Apr. 1, Apr. 29) and Mercyhurst (Apr. 22).

Road Matchups
The Colonials will hit the road for pivotal conference series against Green Bay (Mar. 21-22), Youngstown State (Apr. 8-9), and Cleveland State (Apr. 25-26), among others. RMU will also play a non-conference doubleheader at Kent State on Tuesday, March 25. RMU concludes the regular season with a three-game series at Bowling Green (May 2-3).
Postseason Play
The Horizon League Championship is set for May 7-10, with the location and times to be announced. The top six seeds qualify for the tournament with the No. 1 and No. 2 seed earning a bye in the first round of the double-elimination bracket.
