MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – After recording a career-high 11 points and eight rebounds in RMU's 77-64 victory over Detroit Mercy, Jennica Suggs has been named Horizon League Freshman of the Week.
 
Suggs just finished up the best week of her collegiate career as she averaged 8.5 points per game in the wins against Oakland and Detroit Mercy. The freshman has been active on the defensive side as well as she's recorded four steals over the past two games.
 
Suggs is the first RMU freshman to win this award since Sol Castro did during the 2020-21 season.
 
RMU comes back home to the UPMC Events Center this Wednesday night after winning three Horizon League road games in a row. The Colonials will play host to Wright State at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and then will turn around and battle Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday at 7.p.m. which will also be a home contest.
