RMU Women's Basketball Prepares to Face Saint Francis on the Road

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU women's basketball is continuing its non-conference schedule to open the season with a trip to Loretto to face off against the Saint Francis Red Flash on Thursday night. Opening tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from the DelGol Arena and can be streamed live on NEC Front Row. Live statistics will also be available on Sidearm Stats.

RMU LATELY
RMU will head on the road with a 2-0 record following wins over UIC and, most recently, Akron. The Colonials welcomed Akron to the UPMC Events Center last Friday, coming away with a 70-61 win. As a team, RMU shot 43% on 23-for-53 shooting from the floor. Aislin Malcolm led the Colonial offense with 20 points. Malcolm went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. On the glass, RMU pulled down 38 boards, led by Bailey Kuhns, who grabbed 11.
 
MALCOLM MAGIC
Aislin Malcolm has made an immediate impact for the Colonials, averaging 23.0 PPG to lead RMU. Malcolm was named the Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week this week after her impressive showing. She started in both contests for the Colonials, averaging 32 minutes per game. The 5-11 senior guard has been the offensive leader for RMU with 46 points in two games; her 23.0 PPG is second best in the Horizon League. Against UIC, Malcolm dropped a career-high 26 points, shooting 50% from the floor. She also recorded nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and one steal on the week.
 
 
SCOUTING SAINT FRANCIS
Saint Francis has started the 2025-26 season 0-2 following a pair of losses to Duquesne and La Salle. The Red Flash fell 89-60 to Duquesne at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse to open the season before falling to La Salle 84-73 on Saturday in Philadelphia. Saint Francis has five players averaging double-digits, with Aleah James leading the offense with 15.5 PPG. As a team, Saint Francis is averaging 35.5 RPG with 71 on the season.
 
 
RMU AND SAINT FRANCIS HISTORY
RMU and Saint Francis will be meeting for the 91st time, dating back to 1978. RMU holds a 49-42 advantage over the Red Flash. The pair met last season with Saint Francis grabbing a close 58-55 win over RMU on Nov. 20 at the UPMC Events Center. RMU has won seven of the last 10 matchups. On the road against the Red Flash, RMU is 18-25.
