Moon Township, Pa. – RMU Women's Basketball Head Coach Chandler McCabe has announced the addition of Teigh Yeast and Layla Hale in the class of 2026. Both have officially signed with the program and are eligible to play for the 2026-27 season.
 
Yeast, a 5'9 guard, will be coming to RMU from George Rogers Clark High in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. A three-sport high school athlete, Yeast saw tremendous success, amassing 9 state championships, 1,000 kills in volleyball, and over 1,500 points in basketball. Yeast was named to the Courier Journal's 2024-25 All-State Girls Basketball Third Team, the Lexington Herald All-State Third Team, and was voted seventh in the Courier Journal's ranking of the 30 top high school girls basketball players in Kentucky in 2024 based on a statewide vote of coaches.
 
When asked about the signing of Yeast, McCabe said this about the incoming guard, "We are ecstatic about the signing of Teigh. We were able to build a wonderful rapport with her family in the recruiting process and know that Teigh's impact will transcend the basketball floor. This two-way guard will be a major factor in our success for all four of her seasons here at RMU."
 
The second signing for the class of 2026 is 6-0 guard Layla Hale. Hale will head to Moon Township from Amelia, Ohio. Hale is a product of West Clermont High and scored over 1,000 career points while also now holding the school record at West Clermont for career rebounds. McCabe has this to say about Hale's signing: "Getting an early commitment from Layla was a huge priority last season for our staff. Her versatility and athleticism will translate immediately on the court."
 
The duo of Yeast and Hale looks to make an immediate impact on the court for the Colonials next season under the direction of McCabe and her staff during their freshman campaigns.
