MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's basketball (4-1) team will head to Ypsilanti, Michigan, for a non-conference matchup with Eastern Michigan (2-3) on Wednesday afternoon at the Gervin GameAbove Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., and the game will be streamed on ESPN+
 
RMU LATELY
On Saturday afternoon, the Colonials dropped a 63-54 contest to the Pitt Panthers at the Petersen Events Center in Oakland. Despite finding themselves out 27-8 at the end of the first half, a big second half by the Panthers set the tone for the remainder of the match. A big 12-0 run by the Panthers in the third quarter gave them the lead for the first time in the contest, with Pitt being able to hold on for the come-from-behind win. Aislin Malcolm and Jade Lee each recorded 11 points to lead the Colonial offense while Ava Leroux recorded 10.
 
HORIZON LEAGUE STATISTICS
Looking deeper into the Horizon League stats, RMU is currently ranked fourth in the conference in defense, holding opponents to 62.0 PPG, while being ranked fifth in offense, averaging 67.4 PPG. The Colonials are ranked first in free-throw percentage, shooting 78.9% from the charity stripe. Malcolm is ranked fourth in the conference in scoring, with the Pitt transfer averaging 15.0 PPG to lead the Colonials. Malcolm also leads the league in free throw percentage, shooting 93.3%, going 14-for-15 to begin the season. Eva Levingston currently sits in eighth place in the conference for rebounding, averaging 6.5 RPG
 
SCOUTING EASTERN MICHIGAN
Eastern Michigan currently sits at 2-3 overall going into the matchup with the Colonials. Most recently, the Eagles fell to Horizon League opponent Purdue Fort Wayne last Wednesday, dropping the match 67-52 in Indiana. The Eagles offense is led by Sisi Elko who is averaging a double-double with 16.0 PPG and 10.0 RPG. Peyton Hill is the only other Eagle to average double-digit scoring with 11.6 PPG.
 
RMU AND EASTERN MICHIGAN HISTORY
This will be only the second time in history that the pair will face off, with their lone contest coming back in 1987 as the Colonials lost to Eastern Michigan 65-50 at the Charles L. Sewall Center in Moon Township.
