RMU Women's Basketball Prepares to Face Northern Kentucky

RMU Game Notes 2/16

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU women's basketball team will look to sweep their two-game homestand when they welcome Northern Kentucky to the UPMC Events Center on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and can be seen streaming live on ESPN+.

RMU LATELY
The Colonials got back in the win column by defeating IU Indy, 61-58. The Colonials were led by Noa Givon who led the team with 14 points as she posted her 15th double digit scoring game this season. RMU's defense was stout especially in the fourth quarter where they held the Jaguars to 12 percent shooting in the frame.  RMU is currently the sixth seed in the Horizon League standings with sixth games remaining in regular season play. The Colonials currently rank third in the Horizon League in team defensive rebounds with RMU posting an average of 25.7 defensive boards in 25 games played.

RMU AND NORTHERN KENTUCKY HISTORY
The Colonials have struggled against the Norse in their history with only one win in 12 total matchups since 1985. RMU's lone win in the series came on the road during the 2017 season, 59-50.

RMU AND NORTHERN KENTUCKY LAST TIME OUT
The Colonials lost on the road in the first matchup this season, 72-58. Mya Murray had her best scoring game of the season as she had 17 points to lead the team while Isys Grady was right behind her with 16 points. The game was tied at 49 heading into the final quarter as the Norse would then outscore RMU 23-9 in the final frame.

WELCOME BACK
Senior forward Danielle Vuletich returned to the court for RMU after being sidelined with a knee injury for the past eight weeks. Vuletich made her presence felt right away as she scored on her first attempt from the floor and finished the game with eight points and four rebounds in 14 minutes of action. Vuletich spoke after the game about what it meant to back on the floor, "Honestly, I'm just very thankful that I have the opportunity to come out and play these last couple games with them. And getting injured right before New Year's was kind of hard, because I didn't know what was going to happen. But with hard work, and like coach said, never losing who I am, always being a leader, on the bench, on the floor whenever I can, I'm just happy I can play with my girls again."

UP NEXT
The Colonials will go back on the road and faceoff against Cleveland State next Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN+.
