INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – RMU proudly announces that women's soccer standout
Brenna Murray has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Horizon League Sportsmanship Award. This accolade recognizes student-athletes who embody the highest standards of sportsmanship and ethical behavior during competition, demonstrating values, respect, and integrity. Murray was also the recipient of the women's soccer sportsmanship award for the Horizon League in the fall.
Murray's commitment to leadership and ethical conduct extends beyond this honor. She was invited to participate in the 2024 NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar and was selected to join the prestigious NCAA postgraduate internship program in 2025-26, where she serves as the Inclusion, Education and Community Engagement postgraduate intern.
"Thank you to the Horizon League and RMU for honoring me with this award!" said Murray. "It means the world to be recognized for my character in addition to what I've been able to accomplish on the field the past two years in the league."
A dedicated student-athlete, Murray emphasized the profound impact of her collegiate experience. "I have learned firsthand how competitive drive and sportsmanship go hand-in-hand. Being a student-athlete has taught me more about myself and the person I want to be more than anything else!"
Murray's commitment extends beyond athletic competition, encompassing leadership, service, and connection within the campus community. "I am so grateful for all the opportunities I have had to lead, serve, and connect through my sport and across campus. It has always been a priority for me to carry myself in a way that allows me to influence people for the better, and I look forward to whatever happens next!"
This award, combined with her selection to the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar and her postgraduate internship, is a testament to Murray's dedication to both athletic excellence and personal integrity, reflecting positively on herself, the RMU women's soccer program, and Robert Morris University as a whole.
