YPSILANTI, Mich. – The RMU women's soccer team dropped its first road contest of the 2025 campaign, falling 2-0 to Eastern Michigan at Scicluna Field. With the result, the Colonials move to a 2-2 record to begin the new season.
FIRST HALF
After an early corner kick from the Colonials, the Eagles quickly turned up the offensive pressure. Within a five-minute span, goalkeeper
Emma Cameron was forced to make four saves to keep the game scoreless.
However, in the 13th minute, the home side broke through as Aniyah Mack found the back of the net, giving the Eagles an early 1-0 lead. RMU responded with shots on goal from
Ava Trethewey and
Taylor Day, but Eastern Michigan held its 1-0 advantage after 45 minutes of play.
SECOND HALF
Eastern Michigan quickly dashed any hopes of an RMU comeback, doubling its lead just 61 seconds into the second half. The Eagles' top goal-scorer, Olivia Sipsock, made it a 2-0 game. Despite a late push, the Colonials were unable to find the back of the net, ultimately falling 2-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Eastern Michigan outshot RMU 22-4 and held a 12-3 advantage in shots on target. The Colonials did manage to earn four corner kicks to the Eagles' three.

Shauna Gamble, and
Bailey Campbell all played the full 90 minutes of the match for RMU. Freshman
Francesca Villa made her first career start, logging 38 minutes on the pitch.
CAREER HIGH
Junior goalkeeper
Emma Cameron had a standout performance despite the result, recording a career-high 10 saves in the match. On the season, she has two wins and two clean sheets, with a total of 18 saves.
