MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's soccer team will complete its three-game season-opening road trip at Canisius this Thursday, August 20. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM, with the game streaming live on the Golden Griffins Broadcast Network.
RMU LATELY
RMU (0-2) is coming off a non-conference loss on the road at Bowling Green. The Colonials and Falcons battled to a scoreless draw for 75 minutes before BGSU scored twice in the final 15 minutes to secure the victory.
Through two games,
Shauna Gamble and
Addison Orehowsky have each played all 180 minutes on the pitch. Freshman goalkeeper
Kally Prescott has made seven saves in net.
VETERAN PRESENCE
Seniors
Shauna Gamble and
Ava Trethewey continue to provide veteran leadership for the Colonials.
Gamble enters Thursday's contest with 55 career games played and 44 starts. She has recorded one goal and seven assists during her career.
Trethewey has eclipsed 51 career games played and has started in 42 matches. She has totaled 10 goals, six assists and 26 points throughout her career.
ALL-TIME VS. CANISIUS
Dating back to 1993, RMU is 8-5 all-time against the Golden Griffins. The Colonials have shut out Canisius six times in program history and are currently riding a three-game winning streak in the series, defeating the Golden Griffins in 2019, 2021 and 2025.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GRIFFINS
Canisius (1-0) is coming off a season-opening victory over Le Moyne, defeating the Dolphins, 2-0, at home. Romane Lanni scored the opening goal with an assist from Emilia Nuttall, while the second goal came via an own goal by the Dolphins. Goalkeeper Alexa Turmel made three saves to earn the clean sheet.
Last season, the Golden Griffins finished with an 8-8-3 overall record and went 7-4-1 in Metro Conference play. Canisius defeated Marist and Quinnipiac to earn a spot in the conference championship game. After battling to a 0-0 draw, Sacred Heart captured the conference title with a 4-3 victory in penalty kicks.
Canisius returns its top goal scorer from a season ago in Azaria Fagan, who recorded five goals and two assists, as well as its top assist leader in Jessica Whitaker, who finished with four goals and six assists.
UP NEXT
RMU will begin a four-game homestand on Thursday, August 27, when the Colonials host Mercyhurst for their home opener. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM, with the match streaming live on ESPN+.
