Zach Tucker and Team Canada upset the United States to win the 2025 World Lacrosse Men's U20 Championship, 6-5, for the country's first-ever men's U20 championship held on Jeju Island in South Korea. This snaps a streak of nine gold medals for the Americans.
The Canadians finished the second in Pool A before defeating Jamaica 21-1 in the quarterfinals and Australia 13-5 in the semifinal round.
In the six matches, Tucker anchored a defense that only allowed 5.0 goals per game. He finished the six-game event with five ground balls and a caused turnover.
"This group showed unbelievable heart and resilience," said Canada Head Coach Gary Gait. "They've written an incredible chapter in Canadian lacrosse history."
Additionally,
Callum Witter, who represented the Netherlands, finished the event with 13 goals, nine assists and six ground balls in five matches. The Netherlands finished in 11
th place.
