BOSTON – The Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) has released the results of its 2025-26 Women's Coaches' Poll and Preseason Awards, with the RMU women's hockey team predicted to finish fifth in the conference.
Penn State claimed the top spot in the Coaches' Poll, earning the most votes in balloting among AHA head coaches. Mercyhurst was picked second, followed by RIT in third and Syracuse in fourth. The Colonials were voted to finish fifth in the polling, ahead of Lindenwood and the conference's newest member, Delaware.
In addition to the poll, the AHA also announced its preseason awards. Tessa Janecke of Penn State was selected as the Preseason Player of the Year. Janecke and her teammates Katelyn Roberts, Kendall Butze, and Katie DeSa were all named to the Preseason All-AHA Team. RIT's Emma Pickering and Mercyhurst's Julia Schalin were also nominated to the Preseason All-AHA Team.
The coaches voted on the student-athletes they nominated but were unable to select their own players on the final ballot.
