MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The RMU women's basketball team is returning to the UPMC Events Center on Wednesday night as the Colonials host Youngstown State in Horizon League action in Moon Township. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with tip-off scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Live stats will be available on SIDEARM.

RMU LATELY
The Colonials are 1-1 over their last two matchups, picking up an 80-70 overtime thriller win over IU Indy last Thursday before falling to Cleveland State 68-61 on Sunday afternoon.

Myriam Traore had a huge week for the Colonials, averaging 20.0 points per game while shooting 61.5% from the floor. Traore also averaged 5.0 rebounds per game. Against the Jaguars, Traore scored a career-high 22 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the floor and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. In the matchup against Cleveland State, Traore scored a game-high 18 points to lead RMU, along with six rebounds, two steals, a block, and an assist.

RMU is currently 12-6 overall and 5-4 in conference play. At home, the Colonials have been nearly unstoppable, going 7-2 in nine games. RMU is tied for fourth place in the Horizon League with Cleveland State and Purdue Fort Wayne, with all teams posting a 5-4 mark in conference play.

Wednesday's meeting between the pair will be the 35
th matchup in the series. Youngstown State is currently winning the all-time series 24-10 over the Colonials. The Colonials have fared better at home against the Penguins, posting a 7-11 record on their home court compared to a 3-13 road record against Youngstown State. RMU has taken the last two matchups over the Penguins, picking up a pair of wins last season. The Colonials took the first match of the season 67-61, in Youngstown, before returning to Moon Township to secure a 76-53 win. In conference action, the Colonials have a 4-7 record against Youngstown State.

The Penguins will come to Moon Township with a 13-6 overall record and a 6-3 record in the Horizon League. Youngstown State currently sits in third place behind Northern Kentucky and conference leader Green Bay. The Penguins suffered a 61-52 loss to IU Indy in their most recent Horizon League matchup. On the road, Youngstown State is 6-3.

On the offensive attack for the Penguins, Casey Santoro currently leads the team with 12.5 points per game with 238 on the season. Santoro is currently ranked 10
th in the Horizon League for scoring. Sarah Baker is the only other Youngstown State player scoring double-digits with 11.0 points per game. On the glass, Sophia Gregory leads the Penguins with 7.8 rebounds per game, which is third best in the league.

Youngstown State is led by a second-year head coach, Melissa Jackson, who currently has a 25-25 record at Youngstown through 50 games. Jackson has coached in the Northeast Ohio region for the past 17 years of her coaching career, previously spending 15 seasons at Akron and one season at Cleveland State. Jackson's final five seasons at Akron were as the Zips' head coach, and she is the only coach in the program's history to have a winning record (72-69).
