RMU Women’s Basketball Hits the Road for Wright State Showdown

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The Colonials are back on the road, this time to Dayton, Ohio, for a matchup with Wright State on Saturday at the Wright State University Nutter Center. Tip-off was originally scheduled for Sunday at 2:00 p.m., but due to the incoming weather was moved up to an approximate 3:30 p.m. start on Saturday afternoon. The event will be streamed live on ESPN+, and live stats can be followed on SIDEARM.

RMU LATELY
RMU enters the match with a 13-6 overall record and a 6-4 conference record after beating Horizon League rival Youngstown State 55-40 at the UPMC Events Center on Wednesday night. In the matchup with the Penguins, the duo of Ava Leroux and Eva Levingston provided a massive push for the Colonials, with Leroux having a career night and Levingston posting a double-double. Leroux had 12 points and a career-high eight rebounds while Levingston had a team-high 13 points along with 10 rebounds to lead the Colonials.

The Colonials' defense locked down Youngstown State, allowing the least amount of points given up in a match since RMU joined the conference back in 2020. RMU held the Penguins to just 30% from the floor on 15-for-50 shooting. From deep, the Colonials limited the threat, allowing only 16.7% shooting from beyond the arc for Youngstown State, with the Penguins going 3-for-18 from beyond the arc.

On the road against the Raiders, the Colonials are 3-4 compared to 5-2 at home. Through the last 10 games between the two teams, RMU is 7-3 against the Raiders.

In Horizon League standings, Wright State is currently in 10th place ahead of Detroit Mercy.

Offensively, the Raiders are ranked fifth in the conference, averaging 67.0 points per game, led by Breezie Williams, who is ninth in the conference in scoring with 12.6 points per game. Williams has scored a team-high 251 points on the season through 20 games. Defensively, Wright State is ninth in the conference with an average of 71.4 points per game given up.
