Women's Basketball Wraps up Road Trip at Green Bay

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- The Colonials wrap up their road trip to Wisconsin with a matchup against Green Bay on Sunday afternoon at the Kress Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., and the contest can be streamed live on ESPN+. Live stats of the match will also be available courtesy of SIDEARM.
 
RMU LATELY
The Colonials opened up the new year with a 62-52 win over Milwaukee on the road to advance to 10-3 overall and 3-1 in Horizon League play. In the matchup, Aislin Malcolm led all scorers with 18 points on the night, including going 6-for-8 from the free-throw stripe. Malcolm also recorded four rebounds and two assists in the win. Sophomore Myriam Traore recorded her first double-double as a Colonial, putting up 14 points and grabbing 10 boards in 34 minutes of action. Traore also recorded three steals and an assist. Jada Lee (11) and Bailey Kuhns (10) were the other Colonials to score in double-digits on the night.
 
As a team, the Colonials shot 38.9% on the night, going 21-for-54 from the floor. RMU held a slim 35-31 advantage on the boards while also forcing 14 Milwaukee turnovers compared to the Colonials' 10. RMU led the game for 30:05 minutes while the game featured eight lead changes and five ties.
 
SCOUTING GB
Green Bay moved to 10-5 overall and remained a perfect 5-0 in Horizon League action following a thrilling 58-55 win over Cleveland State on Friday night. The duo of Meghan Schultz (13.1) and Jenna Guyer (13.2) leads the Phoenix offense, which is ranked sixth in the conference, averaging 66.6 points per game. On the glass, Maddy Skorupski leads Green Bay, pulling down 5.1 rebounds per game. Green Bay's offense is first in the conference for team 3-point field goal percentage, with the Phoenix shooting 34.8% from beyond the arc. The Phoenix are second in the conference in free-throw percentage (74.3%) behind RMU (77.3%).
 
Head coach Kayla Karius is in her second season at the helm, recording a 39-11 record with Green Bay. Karius is a Green Bay alum and played for the Phoenix from 2007-2011, which featured a Sweet 16 appearance by Green Bay in 2011.
 
RMU AND GB HISTORY
This will be the 10th meeting between the pair, with the teams last facing off in Indianapolis in the Barbasol Horizon League Championship Semifinals, which saw Green Bay come away with a 67-53 win. Green Bay is 9-0 all-time against the Colonials, winning four at home, four on the road, and the neutral contest in Indianapolis. In the third matchup of the 2024-25 season, the Colonials fell 67-53 to end the season with a 15-16 record and a 10-10 mark in Horizon League play. Jada Lee recorded 12 points while Noa Givon recorded eight in the loss.
