MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU and IU Indy are gearing up for a rematch on Sunday afternoon in The Jungle in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+ for fans at home.
RMU LATELY
The Colonials are coming off a loss to Purdue Fort Wayne back on Tuesday night, as the Mastodons defeated RMU 60-46 in Fort Wayne. In the matchup, the Colonials led the entire game until a big 23-point fourth quarter by the Mastodons flipped the script, giving Purdue Fort Wayne the comeback win.
Eva Levingston (13) and
Myriam Traore (12) led the offensive attack and on the boards, with Traore pulling down a team-high seven rebounds while Levingston had six.
Bailey Kuhns was the next highest scorer with eight points, along with five rebounds. Robert Morris now sits at 14-7 overall and 7-5 in Horizon League play. On the road, the Colonials are 6-5 on the season.
In Horizon League standings, the Colonials are currently tied for third place with Northern Kentucky, with both sporting 7-5 conference records. Offensively, the Colonials are ranked eighth in the conference, averaging 65.0 points per game, led by
Aislin Malcolm with 11.9 points per game (12
th in the conference). On the glass, RMU is ranked second in the conference with 38.5 rebounds, while being first in rebounding margin (5.9) and first in team defensive rebounds, averaging 28.2.
RMU AND IU INDY HISTORY
Sunday's contest will be 13
th matchup between the pair, with IU Indy winning the series 8-4. Despite the Colonials being on a two-game win streak against the Jaguars, IU Indy has been perfect at home, with RMU dropping all five contests in Indiana. In the last 10 matchups, RMU has won four of them, including its first OT win over the Jaguars back on Jan. 15.

The pair first met this season in the UPMC Events Center with RMU escaping the contest with an 80-70 OT win, marking the Colonials' first OT win since 2020. Career nights from
Myriam Traore and
Ava Leroux led RMU offensively. Traore set a new career-high with 22 points, while
Ava Leroux also scored a career-high 14 points.
Aislin Malcolm was another big contributor that night for the Colonials, with Malcolm scoring 13 points along with six assists and four steals. As a team, RMU shot an impressive 56.3% from the floor, going 27-for-48 on the night. The Colonials also went 86.2% from the free-throw line, knocking down 25 of their 29 free-throw attempts. The Colonials also held a huge advantage on the glass, out-rebounding IU Indy 37-20 on the night.
The game featured eight lead changes and six ties, and was the first overtime win since March 9, 2020, when the Colonials beat Wagner 65-61 in overtime in the NEC Quarterfinals.
SCOUTING IU INDY
IU Indy will defend The Jungle with an 8-12 overall record and a 4-7 Horizon League mark. The Jaguars have fared much better at home with a 7-3 record compared to 1-9 on the road.
The Jaguars lost their most recent matchup, falling to Oakland 64-61 in Rochester, Michigan. In the loss, Ariana Williams (12) and Destini Craig (10) were the lone double-digit scorers for IU Indy. The Jaguars are led by Nevaeh Foster offensively. Foster is averaging 11.9 points per game, which is 13
th in the league behind RMU's
Aislin Malcolm. IU Indy's offense is ranked sixth in the conference, with the Jaguars averaging 66.0 points per game. On the boards, Hailey Smith leads IU Indy with 5.8 rebounds per game, which is 10
th in the Horizon League.
The Jaguars are led by Kate Bruce, who is in her fourth year as the head coach of IU Indy. Bruce was named to the helm in May 2022, and after two seasons at IU Indy, was named Indianapolis Business Journal Forty under Forty for her success on the court and her presence in the Indianapolis community.
