YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The RMU women's track and field team secured a fourth-place finish in the 2026 #HLTF Women's Indoor Championship on Sunday at Youngstown State.
On day two of the meet,
Samantha Hennen highlighted the Colonials on the track, with Hennen securing a victory in the 3000m with a time of 9:30.81 to defend her title from last season. Hennen also took home a second-place finish in the mile with a record-breaking time of 4:47.83 to break her own school record.
The Colonials also recorded two second-place finishes on the day, with
Mariya Chamberlain finishing second in the triple jump (11.68) and
Hayzes Robinson in the 60m (7.58).
To round out major performers, RMU had five other top-five finishes with Robinson (200m) securing a fourth-place finish, while
Maizee Fry (Shot Put),
Taylor Colwell (Triple Jump),
Emma Bradbury (Mile), and
Ava Deming (800m) all finished in fifth on the afternoon.
Other point scorers for the Colonials were
Alyssa Croco, who finished sixth in the 5000m yesterday,
Julianna Page-Daughtry, who finished seventh in the 400m, and the 4x400m team of
Jocie Slesinski, Page-Daughtry,
Lindsey Martineau, and
Erin Zephirin, who finished sixth to close out the championships.
As a team, the Colonials secured their highest placement at the Horizon League Indoor Championships since the Colonials joined the league back in 2020. On the afternoon, RMU recorded 89 points behind Purdue Fort Wayne (107), Milwaukee (123), and champions Youngstown State (165).
