INDIANAPOLIS – After a historic performance Sunday, sophomore infielder
Mary Brant has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week. This marks her second career weekly award.
Brant led RMU to a 4-0 sweep over Mercyhurst, producing a team-high nine RBI across four games. At the plate, she went 7-for-13 (.538) and recorded a .571 on-base percentage. She also slugged an impressive 1.231 over the weekend.
The Poland, Ohio native made history in the series finale against Mercyhurst, hitting for the cycle. In that game, she recorded a home run, triple, double and single while tying her single-game career high with six RBI.
Through 18 games this season, Brant has produced 26 RBI on 28 hits, including seven doubles and six home runs, while scoring 18 runs. She currently owns a .483 batting average with a .522 on-base percentage and a .948 slugging percentage.
In four weeks of action, the Colonials have claimed the Horizon League Softball Player of the Week award each time it has been announced. Brant joins
Courtney Poulich, Agalia Rudd and
Eloise Facher as RMU players to earn the honor during the 2026 campaign.
Up next, RMU will begin conference play by hosting Green Bay. Game one of the series is set for Friday, March 20 at 3:00 PM, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, March 21 beginning at 12:00 PM. All games will stream live on ESPN+.
