ROCHESTER, Mich. - The RMU women's track and field team opened up day one of the 2026 Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championships with an individual championship by Julia Dill in the 10,000m.
Dill, a distance runner from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, secured the Colonials' first individual championship, taking home gold in the 10,000m with a time of 35:08.21, nearly a whole minute ahead of the next closest competitor, to secure 10 points for RMU.
The Colonials also secured another five points in the 10,000m with Alyssa Croco earning three with a sixth-place finish (36:47.75) and Lyla Brew picking up two, finishing right behind Croco in seventh with a time of 36:59.00
In the javelin, the Colonials picked up two top-five finishes from Eden Rush and Ayanna Ferringer. Rush, a junior from Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, finished in fourth place with a personal best throw of 37.62m to secure five points for RMU, while Ferringer, a sophomore from Venus, Pennsylvania, finished right behind Rush in fifth place, securing four points for the Colonials with a season best throw of 37.58m.
Also picking up points for the Colonials this afternoon in field events was graduate thrower Maizee Fry, who picked up three points in the discus throw, finishing in sixth with a distance of 38.95m.
Back on the track, Kaylee Foringer and Emma Bradbury both qualified for the 1500m finals, which are slated for Sunday afternoon. Foringer finished sixth in the prelims with a personal best time of 4:39.71 while Bradbury placed eighth with a time of 4:39.92.
After day one, the Colonials are currently tied with Youngstown State for first place, each boasting 27 points through three scored events.
