MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU men's soccer team is set for a pair of home games this week, hosting Waynesburg on Thursday, August 27 at 1:00 PM before welcoming Duquesne on Sunday, August 30 at 4:00 PM. Both games will stream live on ESPN+.
RMU LATELY
RMU (1-1) is coming off its first road win of the season, defeating Canisius, 1-0, on a late goal from
Callum Doyle-Travers. The defender scored his first career goal with less than three minutes remaining to secure the victory.
Defender
Miguel Dominguez recorded his first career assist on the game-winning goal, while
Matthew Eckersall produced his first assist of the season. In goal,
Josh Lane recorded one save to earn his 13th career clean sheet. In Buffalo, redshirt sophomore
Filip Jeppesen made his RMU debut, playing 29 minutes.
Through two games, junior center back
Abdul Kamara has played all 180 minutes for the Colonials. Sophomore
Riley Cotton has scored RMU's opening goal of the season and leads the team with three shots.
ALL-TIME VS. WAYNESBURG
Thursday will mark the first meeting between RMU and Waynesburg.
SCOUTING THE YELLOW JACKETS
Waynesburg finished the 2025 season with a 7-6-5 overall record and went 2-4-5 in conference play. The Yellow Jackets return both of their top goal scorers from a season ago, led by Zachary Johnson, who recorded 12 goals in 2025. John Engel returns after producing a team-best eight assists.
ALL-TIME VS. DUQUESNE
Entering the 2026 season, RMU is 7-19-4 all-time against Duquesne but has found more success against the Dukes since head coach
Jonathan Potter took over.
In 2024, the Colonials defeated the No. 18-ranked Dukes, 3-0, for their first win over Duquesne in nearly a decade.

Logan Gilley and
Kosi Udeh all found the back of the net during a five-minute stretch.
Last season, the Colonials jumped out to a 2-0 lead against the Dukes, but Duquesne responded with two goals to earn a 2-2 draw.
SCOUTING THE DUKES
Duquesne (1-0-1) enters the week coming off a 3-0 victory over Bowling Green. The Dukes will continue their season-opening stretch at home against Mount St. Mary's on Thursday before traveling to Moon Township on Sunday.
Through two games, junior Marko Rasmussen leads Duquesne with two goals, while sophomore defender Alex Posada has played all 180 minutes. In goal, redshirt senior Sam Coss has recorded two shutouts and made seven saves.
The Dukes finished the 2025 season with an 8-6-2 overall record and went 2-6 in Atlantic 10 play. Duquesne returns its top goal scorer (5) from a season ago in Jaxon Ervin, as well as its top assist producer in Pepo Bravo, who recorded four assists in 2025.
COMMON OPPONENTS
After facing the Colonials, Duquesne will visit Horizon League member Detroit Mercy on September 5. The Dukes will also travel to St. Bonaventure on October 21. RMU is scheduled to face both programs in September.
