MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's soccer team is set to begin Horizon League play on the road Saturday, traveling to Dayton, Ohio, to take on Wright State. The match is scheduled for Saturday, September 19 at 5:00 PM. Live stats will be available.
 
RMU LATELY
RMU (3-3-1) is coming off its second consecutive non-conference victory, defeating UMBC, 1-0. In the win, Julia Becerra scored her first career goal in the 75th minute, with Ava Trethewey and Madison Sievering each earning an assist. Senior goalkeeper Emma Cameron made four saves in the victory and was named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Through seven games, Sievering leads the Colonials in goals (2) and points (6), while Alyssa Mella and Trethewey have each recorded two assists. Senior captain and defender Shauna Gamble has played every minute this season, logging 630 minutes.
 
UPON THE HORIZON
Through non-conference play, RMU was one of just three programs in the Horizon League to post a winning percentage of at least .500.
 
Sievering is tied for sixth in the league in points with six. In goal, Cameron ranks second in the Horizon League in goals-against average (0.71), save percentage (.826) and shutouts (3).
 
SHUTOUT STREAK
Backed by Cameron in net, the Colonials have recorded three consecutive clean sheets. RMU enters the weekend riding a shutout streak of 281 minutes.
 
The last time the Colonials recorded three consecutive shutouts was at the start of the 2023 season, when RMU defeated VMI, Hampton and Akron to open the campaign. That team went on to record a shutout streak of 357 minutes.
 
ALL-TIME VS. WRIGHT STATE
Dating back to 1995, RMU is 4-5 against the Raiders. Since joining the Horizon League, the Colonials are 4-3 against Wright State. Not a single game between the teams has ended in a tie.
 
Last season, Wright State earned a 3-2 victory over RMU. Prior to that, the Colonials had won three straight against the Raiders, including a playoff victory in 2023.
 
All three of RMU's seniors have recorded a point against Wright State. Gamble leads the way with one goal and two assists, while Trethewey scored once last season and Becerra recorded an assist in 2023.
 
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Wright State (2-5-1) enters conference play on a five-game losing streak. The Raiders have dropped three consecutive games by a 2-1 score to Indiana State, Bellarmine and Dayton. To begin the season, Wright State tied Southern Indiana before defeating Butler and IUP.
 
Through eight games, senior midfielder Caitlin Burger leads the Raiders with four goals. Ruby Dunleavy, Taliah Pellizzari and Olivia Stroud have each recorded two assists, while Dunleavy leads the team in minutes played with 525. In goal, Leigha Lauer has started all eight games, recording two wins, one clean sheet and 42 saves.
 
Last season, Wright State finished with a 7-7-5 overall record and a 4-1-5 mark in Horizon League play. After qualifying for the league's playoff tournament, the Raiders fell, 3-1, to Green Bay in the quarterfinals.
