Earning his first Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week of the 2014 fall season is junior forward Neco Brett of the soccer squad. Brett helped lead the Colonials to a 1-1 mark last week in Lexington, Va., at the VMI Jay Sculley Memorial Tournament. In a 2-1 overtime loss to Liberty (9/12) to open the tournament, Brett scored the only goal of the contest for the Colonials. Two days later, Brett helped lead RMU to a 4-0 victory over the host Keydets with a pair of goals and an assist. Brett, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, finished the tournament with seven points and for his efforts was tabbed the U-ADE Northeast Conference Player of the Week (9/15). The reigning NEC Player of the Year, Brett has tallied 12 points on five goals and two assists through RMU’s first five tilts of the 2014 campaign.
