Sophomore middleblocker Kristin Thompson of the volleyball team earns the Higher Images RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 13, 2013. A native of Monroe, Ohio, Thompson helped the Colonials earn a split in their annual trek through Brooklyn, N.Y., last weekend and securing the program’s 15th consecutive berth in the Northeast Conference Tournament. In a 3-1 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn (11/9), Thompson registered a career-high 13 kills against just three attack errors in 23 attempts or a .435 attack percentage to go along with eight blocks. The next afternoon against LIU Brooklyn (11/10) Thompson posted eight kills and a .300 attack percentage while tallying a trio of blocks. So far this season Thompson owns 86 kills and a .289 attack percentage and has compiled 49 blocks, including 10 solo.
