Garnering his second consecutive Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor is freshman attack Ryan Smith of the lacrosse squad. In helping the Colonials improve to 2-0 in the Northeast Conference with an 11-10 victory over Mount St. Mary’s (3/25) at Joe Walton Stadium, Smith scored a career-high four goals, including the game winner in overtime. The rookie scored the winning tally 47 seconds into the extra period. For his efforts, Smith, a native of Burlington, Ontario, was tabbed the NEC Player of the Week as well as the NEC Co-Rookie of the Week. In eight games this season, Smith ranks second for the Colonials in goals with 15.Â
