Sophomore guard Dachon Burke of the basketball team has been named the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 29, 2017. In a pair of victories last week that closed out the Grand Canyon Classic and helped the Colonials extend their winning streak to three, Burke averaged 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 61.9 percent (13-for-21) from the field. In a 75-53 victory over Norfolk State (11/24/17), Burke contributed 15 points, three rebounds and a career-high five assists. The next afternoon in a 78-64 victory @ Little Rock (11/25/17), Burke celebrated his birthday by tying a career high with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor. He also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out three assists. For his efforts, Burke was tabbed the Northeast Conference (NEC) Co-Player of the Week (11/27/17). In five games this season, Burke, a native of Orange, N.J., has scored in double figures in each contest and is supplying Robert Morris with averages of 13.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
