Junior Gillian Thompson of the hockey team has been selected as the Chick-Fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of Week for March 10, 2021. She joins teammate Maggy Burbidge in sharing the accolade. Thompson, a native of Toronto, Ontario, scored at 7:27 of the first period for the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory over Syracuse (3/6/21) in Erie, Pa., in the championship game of the 2021 College Hockey America (CHA) Tournament. Etching her name in RMU hockey lore, the goal stood as the game winner as the Colonials won three games in as many days to earn their third CHA Tournament crown and first since 2017. For her efforts, Thompson, a social science major who has compiled a 3.61 cumulative grade point average (GPA), was named to the 2021 CHA All-Tournament Team. In 24 games in 2020-21, she has recorded four goals and six assists for 10 points.
