Junior Bethany Ledford of the track & field team is honored with the Higher Images RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week accolade for April 30, 2014. A native of Huntingdon, Pa., Ledford won the individual championship in the pole vault at the Red Flash Open (4/26/14) last weekend and in the process established a new RMU outdoor school record in the event. She recorded a leap of 3.70 meters (12’1.50”), a mark that also helped her qualify for the 2014 IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Ledford enters the 2014 Northeast Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at the RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island tied for the No. 1 seed in the pole vault with Elissa Ingram of Mount St. Mary’s. Ledford is a three-time All-NEC performer in the pole vault, having claimed individual championships at the 2012 NEC Outdoor Championships and the 2014 NEC Indoor Championships. At the 2013 NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Ledford finished second to earn All-NEC Second Team accolades.
