Earning his sixth Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week nod of the 2021-22 season is senior forward Kahliel Spear, who garners the honor for March 2, 2022. In a trio of games in the last week, Spear, a native of The Colony, Texas, averaged 15.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting 54.8 percent (17-for-31) from the field and 71.4 percent (10-for-14) at the free-throw line. Named to both the 2022 Horizon League All-Academic Team and the 2022 #HLMBB Third Team, Spear finished with a double-double thanks to 19 points and 13 rebounds in a 77-73 win @ Youngstown State (3/1/22) in the first round of the 2022 Keeps Horizon League Tournament. It marked Spear’s 10th consecutive double-figure scoring game as the Colonials picked up their first Horizon League Tournament win in program history. Overall during the 2021-22 season, Spear is averaging 14.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest and leads the Horizon League in field goal percentage at 54.8 percent (182-for-332).
