Tawnya Storino Tabbed NEC Player of the Week

Moon Township, Pa. ? For the third straight week a Robert Morris University volleyball player has been honored by the Northeast Conference. This afternoon the conference announced that senior setter Tawnya Storino (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) has been selected as the NEC Player of the Week.

 

Storino tallied three double-doubles last weekend at the UC-Riverside Tournament. She tallied 42 assists and 11 digs against Army, 47 assists and 12 digs against tournament host UC-Riverside and 52 assists and a season high 19 digs against Idaho State. Also, for the weekend, Storino hit .333 with 13 kills on 27 attempts. She tallied five kills against both Army and Idaho State, while also hitting .429 against Army.

 

The Colonials, with a record of 5-4, return to action Friday, Sept. 21 when they take on Howard at the Saint Francis (Pa.) Tournament.
