Fairfax, Va. - After having a Northeast Conference match at Mount St. Mary's postponed April 3 due to inclement weather, the Robert Morris University men's tennis team continued its 2007-08 spring season by dropping a 4-2 decision at George Mason April 4. The loss drops the Colonials to 6-12 overall on the 2007-08 season.
Doubles play was not contested against the Patriots due to continued inclement weather, with George Mason sealing the victory thanks to wins at the No. 1 through No. 4 singles flights.
For RMU, sophomore David Pinto (Burlington, Ontario / Nelson) defeated Jordan Lipstock at the No. 5 singles flight, 6-3 and 7-6 (7-3).
Freshman Robert Switzer (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island / Charlottetown) evened his singles record at 9-9 on the year with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Martin Brown at the No. 6 flight.
Robert Morris returns to the court Friday, April 11, for a 3:00 p.m. match against Tiffin at the North Athletic Complex.
