Pacific Downs Robert Morris, 3-0

Kent, Ohio - Monday afternoon, the Robert Morris University field hockey team traveled to Kent State University to take on Pacific in a neutral site match up.  The Colonials, looking to make it two in a row for the first time in history, could not seem to kick start their offense as the dominant Pacific defense held them scoreless for all 70 minutes.

Ten minutes into the first period, Pacific's Katy McDonough took a pass from the top of the circle to knock it past Robert Morris goaltender Stephanie Seeley (Louisville, Ky. / Ballard) and take a 1-0 lead.  Just three minutes later, the Tigers would strike again when Amanda Spellman found Kim Keyawa to knock it in from the left side of the goal making it 2-0 in favor of the Tigers.

The Colonials defense then held tough through the second period, but finally gave way when Ashley Niccum scored Pacific's third goal with two minutes remaining in the game.

Seeley had a season high 10 saves on the day.  Senior Laura White (Pennsauken, N.J. / Collingswood) also picked up a defensive save.

The Colonials will now play two at home before heading out on the road again.  On Friday, September 12 the Radford Highlanders will travel to Moon Township, Pa. to take on Robert Morris at 1:00 p.m. at Joe Walton Stadium.
