Fort Wayne, Indiana - The Robert Morris University men's tennis team continued its 2010 spring season with a pair of dual matches in Indiana this past weekend, falling to host IPFW, 7-0, Feb. 12, before dropping a 7-0 decision to Illinois-Chicago in a neutral site match, Feb 13. The pair of losses drops the Colonials to 3-7.
Against the Mastodons in the first match of the day, freshman Liran Braun (Herzelia, Israel / Herzelia) battled Justin Collins at the No. 6 singles flight before suffering a 7-5, 7-5, defeat.
Also against IPFW, senior David Pinto (Burlington, Ontario / Nelson) won the first set over Luis Maselli at the third singles, 6-4, before Maselli rebounded to earn a 6-3 win in the second set and won the match, 10-6, in the final set.
Against the Flames later in the day, Pinto moved to the No. 4 singles flight and fell to Nathan Kirk, 6-1 and 6-2, while sophomore Igor Neves (Ponta Pora, Brazil / Ponta Pora) battled Sebastian Lystad at the No. 1 flight before falling, 6-4 and 6-1.
Robert Morris continues its 2010 spring campaign by hosting James Madison Friday, Feb. 19, in a 4:00 p.m. match.
