Smith Named NEC Player of the Week

Moon Township, Pa. - March 29, 2010 - Robert Morris University junior men's lacrosse player Patrick Smith (Westminster, Md. / Westminster) was named NEC Player of the Week after leading the Colonials to a close 18-17 victory over Jacksonville this past weekend.

Smith led the Colonials with four goals and one assist in the win and marked the third time this season the junior captured four scores in a game. He scored two goals in the first quarter and assisted on the opening goal to help give RMU a 6-2 lead heading into the second quarter. Smith then scored two more goals in the third quarter to put RMU up 13-10 going into the final quarter. Smith is currently tied for first on the team with 19 goals and is tied for second with 28 points.

The Colonials return to action this Saturday, April 3 when they take on the Air Force at Joe Walton Stadium at 12:00 p.m.
