Schedule for Robert Morris in 2010 Announced

Moon Township, Pa. - The Robert Morris University men's soccer team will play an 18-game schedule for the 2010 season. The Colonials will be on the road for most of the season playing host to eight matches at North Athletic Complex.

The Colonials begin their regular season with a pair of road matchups against two crosstown opponents. RMU opens the year Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Pittsburgh before traveling to Duquesne Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Robert Morris opens play at home Wednesday, Sept. 8, with a 4:00 p.m. contest against Wright State at the North Athletic Complex.

After the home opener, the Colonials hit the road for three games, first traveling to Buffalo, N.Y., for a contest against the University of Buffalo Sunday, Sept. 12.

The Colonials will visit Green Bay, Wisc., after tangling with the Bulls, taking part in the Wisconsin-Green Bay Tournament Sept. 17-19. The Colonials square off with Western Michigan Sept. 17 before meeting UNLV for the first time in program history two days later.

Returning home Sept. 24, the Colonials host Niagara in a 4:00 p.m. start time and continue their homestand Sunday, Sept. 26, at 1:00 p.m. versus Canisius.

The Colonials travel to Smithfield, R.I., to open up Northeast Conference play against Bryant (Oct. 1), beginning a stretch of 10 straight games against league foes.

The Colonials host Central Connecticut State Friday, Oct. 8, and keep the homestand rolling with a tilt against Quinnipiac Sunday, Oct. 10.

A trip east takes the men's team to Teaneck, N.J., and Fairfield, Conn., for clashes with Fairleigh Dickinson (Oct. 15) and Sacred Heart (Oct. 17).

The Colonials will be back in action at home Oct. 22 at 3:00 p.m. and Oct. 24 at 1:00 p.m. when they square off with Saint Francis (N.Y.) and Long Island.

The Colonials close out their road schedule and the month of October when they do battle with Mount St. Mary's (Oct. 29) and Monmouth (Oct. 31).

In-state rival Saint Francis (Pa.) comes to town Saturday, Nov. 6, for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff. The matchup with the Red Flash will be the last regular season home game and Senior Day.

The Colonials look to improve and build upon the 3-13-3 record they posted last season which included a 3-4-3 mark in conference play. Bill Denniston heads into his 10th season at the helm of the men's soccer program and holds a record of 62-83-27 overall while in charge of the Colonials.
