Colonials Add Sarah Kaczuk to Coaching Staff

Moon Township, Pa. - Robert Morris University volleyball head coach Dale Starr announced Friday the hiring of Sarah Kaczuk as an assistant coach.

"We're excited to have Sarah," said Starr. "It'll be good to have all fresh ideas. We're trying to change the culture and energy in the program, and this will be a great energy infusion. It's always good to have extra sets of eyes in the gym."

Kaczuk began her collegiate volleyball career at Ashland University, playing for the Eagles during the 2005 season. After transferring to Kent State, she played for the Golden Flashes in 2007 and 2008, helping KSU finish 35-28 over those two seasons. Kaczuk played in 21 matches and finished fourth on her team with 1.66 digs/game in 2008. She graduated from Kent State in December 2008 with a degree in business management.

Kaczuk, a native of Solon, Ohio, began her coaching career in 2006, assisting with teams from Renaissance Volleyball Club in Cleveland, Ohio, and Summit Volleyball Club in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. For the past two years, she has served as a head coach of numerous youth teams within these clubs. Kaczuk also was as an assistant coach with the United States Air Force Adult Women's Volleyball Team that won the gold medal in the All-Armed Forces Games in May 2010.

Kaczuk will be on the sidelines for the first time at RMU Friday, August 27, when the Colonials host Radford to open the season as part of the Duquesne / Robert Morris Invitational.
