Colonials Tie Program Record in 4-1 Win

Box Score MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Sept. 3, 2011 -The Robert Morris field hockey program tied a program record with four goals on Saturday in a 4-1 win over Saint Louis, giving the Colonials their first win of the young 2011 season. Freshmen Jamie Hartley (Tamworth, Australia / University of Newcastle) and Taleah Scott (Crookwell, Australia / Crookwell) each tallied a pair of goals and a pair of assists to pave the way for the Robert Morris win.

For just the third time in program history and the first since the 2008 season, the Colonials (1-2 overall, 0-0 NEC) notched four goals in a game. The record was initially set in a 4-1 win over Lindenwood on Sept. 23, 2006 before being tied in a 4-3 shootout win of Appalachian State on Aug. 30, 2008.

Hartley started the day with a bang for the Colonials when she tallied her first goal of the day just 58 seconds into Saturday's contest. The midfielder, who put a game-high six shots on goal in the win, made it 1-0 when she put a shot past Billikens goalkeeper Megan Ambrose after being set up by Scott.

Saint Louis would send the game into halftime with the score even at 1-1 after at the 17:29 mark, but the second half would be all Colonials. Scott and Hartley would pair up for the second of four times at the 45:34 mark when Hartley found her teammate off a corner for Scott's first goal of the year. The duo would build Robert Morris' lead to 3-1 at 63:09 when Hartley scored her second of the day from the left side. Freshman Michelle Lewthwaite (Macarthur, Australia / Westfield Sports High) would also earn an assist on the goal. Scott would close out the days scoring just over five minutes later with a backhander at the 68:40 mark with assists from Meredith Krick (Palmrya, Pa. / Palmyra Area) and Hartley.

Freshman goalkeeper Erin McKenzie (Lismore, Australia / University of Queensland Tech) made two saves in net for the Colonials, who outshot Saint Louis 16-4 in the win.

Robert Morris returns to action on Sunday for a weekend finale against Central Michigan at 1 p.m. EDT.
