Box Score Loretto, Pa. - The Robert Morris University field hockey program fell in their final regular season contest to Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday afternoon by a score of 2-0.
Senior goaltender Paige Neat (Louisville, Ky.) made her final start with the Robert Morris program and held the Red Flash scoreless in the first half while making two saves. The Red Flash would open the scoring in the second half with a goal 31 seconds in as they were able to capitalize on a penalty stroke. Just over ten minutes later, the RMU deficit would double in size as SFU forced a turnover and scored on a shot past the outstretched pad of Neat.
After not recording a shot in the first half, the Colonials were able to get three shots on target during the second half. Nicole Mackin (Louisville, Ky.) recorded two shots while Taleah Scott (Crookwell, Australia) registered the team's third shot.
Neat would record five saves in the contest as she concluded her career at RMU with a 4-3 record and is the only goaltender in RMU history to leave the program with a winning record.
All was not lost in the 2012 season as multiple Colonials made their impact. Sophomore Jamie Hartley (Tamworth, Australia) matched her career-high of 21 points in a season which is also the program record. With her second consecutive 21-point season, Hartley now hold the career record for points with 42 after completing her sophomore season.
Freshman Jess Martin-Brown (Mount Gambrier, Australia) set new program records with nine goals in the season and three game-winning goals.
The Colonials will only lose two seniors as they prepare for the 2013 season.
