The Capsule
The Robert Morris University women's basketball team wraps
up a four-game road trip by traveling to East Lansing, Mich., to take on the
Michigan State Spartans (4-0) in a 4:00 p.m. game Sunday, Nov. 25. The
Colonials are coming off a tough loss at Iowa where they were within eight
points of the Hawkeyes late in the second half. The Spartans have won their
first four games, three at home.
The Series
Sunday's contest will mark the first meeting between Robert
Morris and Michigan State. The Spartans are the third of four teams that RMU
will be playing for the first time this season. The others are Colgate,
Michigan State and Minnesota. The Colonials lost at Colgate and Iowa in their
first two inaugural meetings this season.

All-NEC Preseason team

Spanou, Gailite
Leaving Their Marks in Record Book
Junior forward Artemis Spanou and senior Anna Gailite have
left their marks on the RMU career record lits. Spanou is the 11th player in
team history to reach both 1,000 career points and collect 500 career rebounds.
Gailite is now second all-time at Robert Morris with 116 career blocks. Gailite
is averaging 2.0 blocks this season while Spanou is dropping 18.5 points and
grabbing 12.8 rebounds per contest.
Road Warriors
Robert Morris is in the midst of a four-game road swing and
an extended portion of the Colonials schedule that will see the team play eight
of 10 games away from the Charles L. Sewall Center between now and the turn of
the calendars. During that span, RMU will travel 6,644 miles. The longest trip
is the the 858-mile journey to Minnesota while the shortest is 94 miles to Kent
State.
Euro-Stats
The contributions of the Colonials European-born players
cannot be overlooked. Three of five starters and five of the team's 10 players
were born on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean (junior forward Jolie Olingende
is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo). Those European players are
accounting for 74 percent of the team's scoring (39.5 points per game).
