Jay Earns 2nd Consecutive NEC Weekly Award

Moon Township, Pa. - Middle blocker Becky Jay claimed her fourth Molten/NEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week award this season after her performances in the three Robert Morris victories in the previous week.  Jay helped the Colonials earn their 14th consecutive postseason appearance while guiding the team through an undefeated week with victories over in-state rival Saint Francis (Pa.), Sacred Heart, and Fairleigh Dickinson.

On Wednesday, Jay and her Colonial teammates took on Saint Francis (Pa.) in the second installment of the Keystone Clash.  In the three-set sweep, Jay would record one dig, two solo blocks, and one block assist.  Returning to the Sewall Center for the first of two NEC matches, Jay would record six digs and seven block assists in the victory over Sacred Heart.  The following day, Jay would tally five block assists and four digs as the Colonials would close out their home schedule with a victory over Fairleigh Dickinson.

On the week, Robert Morris played in eleven sets and Jay would average 1.00 digs per set and 1.36 blocks per set.

Jay and the Colonials will have their final non-conference game of the season as they make the short trip to the University of Pittsburgh for a match on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.  Robert Morris will then conclude the regular season with a pair of NEC contests in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Saturday and Sunday.
