Boston, Mass. - The Robert Morris University men's indoor track & field squad concluded its 2011-12 campaign by competing at the 2012 IC4A Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend.
Sophomore Dorian Rumble (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Penn Hills) highlighted the meet for RMU, establishing a new school record in the 800-meter run. Rumble posted a time of 1:52.72, good enough to finish 19th individually.
In other events for Robert Morris, junior Collin Ray (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area) tied for 17th in the shot put with a toss of 15.60 meters (51'2.25"), while junior Brendan Morales (Westminster, Md. / Westminster) finished 30th in the same event with a throw of 15.13 meters (49'7.75").
In the 500-meter, sophomore Jermaine Dwight (Wyncote, Pa. / Cheltenham Township) finished 28th thanks to a time of 1:05.69, while sophomore Nicolas Gentile (Sarver, Pa. / Freeport) also competed in the event but did not finish.
Dwight was also a part of a 4x400-meter relay that competed the IC4A Championships, finishing 21st in the preliminaries with a season-best time of 3:17.15.
Dwight anchored the relay squad, which also included sophomores Chris Carper (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona) and Abraham Roy (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area) and junior Tyler Morton (Silver Spring, Md. / Springbrook).
