Robert Morris Takes Fifth At CSU Invitational

Hinckley, Ohio / Pine Hills Golf Club - The Robert Morris University women's golf team finished fifth at the 2012 Cleveland State Invitational held on the 6,107-yard, par-73 layout at Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley, Ohio. Sophomore Sarah Weber (Hudson, Ohio / Hudson) topped the Colonials contingent by finishing 14th overall.

Bowling Green took the team title using 630 strokes overall. Host Cleveland State was second at 633 followed by Saint Francis (Pa.) in third with a 639. Chicago State was next at 644 followed by Robert Morris (649), Youngstown State (650) and Niagara (667).

Weber shaved three strokes from her opening round score Tuesday, coming home in 79 strokes to finish with a 161 total that put her in a tie for 14th position. Senior Tess Wolfe (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Blackhawk) posted and 85 in the second round, landing herself in a tie with freshman teammate Halley Morell (Brecksville, Pa. / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) for 20th. Morell found eight strokes between the first and second rounds finishing with a 78 after carding an opening round 86.

Senior Jenna Rinker (Slippery Rock, Pa. / Slippery Rock) was 23rd, one stroke and three places back of Wolfe and Morell. Rinker shot a 165 with rounds of 84 and 81. Freshman Gianna Pro (Harrison City, Pa. / Penn-Trafford) was next in 27th with a line of 86-80=166. Playing as an individual, junior Alee Everman (Dayton, Ohio / Centerville) finished off her tournament with an 88 to finish 35th with a 171 total.
