Colonials Take Second At Mount Spring Invitational

Littlestown, Pa. / Quail Valley G.C. — The Robert Morris University women's golf team tied its best finish of the season by taking second at the eight-team Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational played at Quail Valley Golf Club in Littlestown, Pa. The Colonials put three players in the top-10 led by freshman Halley Morell's (Brecksville, Ohio / Brecksville-Broadview Heights) who had a season-best third place showing.

Morell tied and beat her season low scores in each of the first rounds of event. Her first round 76 tied her previous best before she topped that mark just hours later with a 75 in the second round. She finished up play with an 81 giving her a 232 54-hole total and putting her in third.

Senior Jenna Rinker (Slippery Rock, Pa. / Slippery Rock) tied for fifth place with a 238 total in three rounds. She ended play with an 82 Tuesday that was good enough to ensure her third top-five showing of the year as she tied for fifth. Freshman Gianna Pro (Harrison City, Pa. / Penn Trafford) claimed her fourth top-10 of the year with a 241 total that put her all alone in ninth. She tallied 83-81 over the final two rounds after an impressive five-over par 77 in the opening round.

Senior Tess Wolfe (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Blackhawk) had the best score for the team Tuesday as she carded an 80. Wolfe's 245 total put her 14th on the strength of a first-round 79. Sophomore Sarah Weber (Hudson, Ohio / Hudson) tied for 16th overall. Her 247 score was made up of rounds of 81, 82 and 84.

Playing as individuals, junior Annie Bozich (Aliquippa, Pa. / Center) and sophomore Tori Zachman (Hampstead, Md. / North Carroll) took 35th and 40th. Bozich carded rounds of 83-89-91 while Zachman turend in scores of 91-96-95.
