Nittany Lions Hand Colonials 1-0 Loss

Tuesday’s game first meeting between the teams since 1999.



University Park, Pa. / Jeffrey Field – The Robert Morris University and Penn State University men's soccer teams played for the first time since 1999 Tuesday night at Jeffrey Field in University Park, Pa. The Nittany Lions won, 1-0, as the teams met for the fourth time. Robert Morris slips to 1-3-2 on the year while Penn State moves to 3-2-1.

Penn State tallied the game's only goal in the 34th minute. Mason Klerks slid a through-ball ahead to Mark Wadid who was able to find the lower right corner of the net.

The Nittany Lions three shots on goal in the first half would be there only shots on frame. RMU freshman keeper Joseph Kuta (Mississauga, Ontario / St. Joan of Arc) finished the game with two saves. RMU put two shots on net, both of which were stopped by Andrew Wolverton.

The Colonials return to the pitch Friday, Sept. 20, when they host Niagara in a 3:00 p.m. game at North Athletic Complex.
