Brett Named NEC Player of the Week

Sophomore striker netted four goals and an assist in two games.

Moon Township, Pa. – Robert Morris University men's soccer sophomore forward Neco Brett (Kingston, Jamaica / Exceslior) was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week after tallying four goals and an assist in two games.

Brett started the week with a goal and an assist as Robert Morris rolled over Duquesne, 3-0, Wednesday afternoon. His second goal was part of the fastest three-goal outburst in NEC history and the 14th fastest in NCAA history. RMU tallied three goals in a span of just 5:01.

Sunday, Brett accounted for all three goals as the Colonials bulled past Buffalo, 3-1. His hat trick was the team's first since 2007 and the ninth RMU hat trick overall.

Robert Morris leads the NEC in points, goals and assists this season and the Jamaican-born forward is a big reason for that. He leads the NEC with 17 points and his seven goals are tied for the lead league. He also has three assists, enough to put him tied for third in the conference.

The Colonials have won three consecutive games and are 4-3-2 on the season. They look to keep the momentum rolling when they travel to George Washington for a 1:00 p.m. game Saturday, Oct. 5.
