Oneonta, N.Y. / Elmore Field — The Robert Morris University men's soccer team salvaged a scoreless tie with Detroit Sunday afternoon in its second game at the Mayor's Cup in Oneonta, N.Y.
The Colonials, now 0-1-2, played the final sixty minutes of the game one-man down after sophomore Matt Fonagy (Cecil, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) was issued a red card in the 50th minute.
RMU held a 17-13 advantage in shot, including three shots in the second overtime period. Freshman goalkeeper Joseph Kuta (Mississauga, Ontario / St. Joan of Arc) made six saves in earning his first clean sheet of the season.
Robert Morris opens the home portion of its schedule Wednesday, Sept. 11, when Wright State visits North Athletic Complex for a 1:00 p.m. game.
