Miro Cabrilo (2010-13) signed with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the United Soccer Leagues after training with the team throughout the preseason. It is the first professional contract for the 2013 All-Northeast Conference First Team selection.
Cabrilo finished his RMU career eighth all-time with 45 career points while starting every game of a four-year career. He tallied 16 goals and 13 assists during his tenure, increasing his scoring total each season. He finished his senior season with four goals and six assists for 14 points.
Cabrilo will have the chance to see some familiar faces when the Riverhounds host the Harrisburg City Islanders Wednesday, June 11, at Highmark Stadium. The Islanders feature a pair of former Colonials –
Jason Pelletier (2005-06) and
Neil Shaffer (2007-10). Kick-off is slated for 7:00 p.m. Both Pelletier and Shaffer were All-NEC selections during their RMU careers.
