Maggie LaGue of the
Robert Morris University women's hockey team each received individual College Hockey America honors, announced the league Monday afternoon.
Howard earned the CHA Player of the Week title after she posted back-to-back multi-point efforts in the Colonials' sweep of RIT on the road last weekend. It is her second career Player of the Week nod and sixth overall CHA honor.
The redshirt sophomore posted one goal and three assists on the weekend. She has scored two points in each of her last three games, all Colonials wins. Overall, RMU is 6-1-1 in games in which Howard tallies a point and 1-3-0 in contests where she fails to record a point. Howard entered the RMU record books this weekend and now ranks ninth all-time in points (58) and 10
th all-time in assists (35).
LaGue, a rookie defenseman out of Barre, Vt., picked up her first-ever CHA weekly honor after she scored her first career goal, the game-winner, in RMU's 4-0 shutout victory in Game 1 at RIT. In Game 2, she posted three assists as the Colonials scored four goals in the third period to secure a 6-3 win over the Tigers. The two outings were LaGue's first consecutive multi-point efforts and the three assists tie LaGue for ninth all-time in individual single game records.
