Registration Open for RMU Volleyball Summer Camps

Robert Morris will be hosting six different camps in the month of July

Moon Township, Pa. – Registration is now open for the six volleyball camps that will be held by Robert Morris University head coach Dale Starr and his staff at the Charles L. Sewall Center on the campus of RMU.

Setters Camp and Ball Control Camp will both be held on July 8th. Setters Camp, which will go on from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., is designed to help skills such as hand control, body positioning, footwork, location, transition to set, and attacking. Ball Control Camp, which starts at 4:00 p.m. that day and ends at 9:00 p.m., will feature skill work in passing, using both platform and hands, and back court defensive skills.

On July 9th, the Colonials will hold their Hitters Camp. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., campers will work on breaking down the fundamentals of the swing, attacking along the net, and attacking from the back row.

The Elite Skills Camp will be held from July 10th to 12th. This camp is designed for girls ages 14-18 and will teach players the advanced skills of volleyball in all aspects of the game. Athletes will be individually instructed on how to serve, serve receive, fore-arm pass, set, attack, and block. In addition, campers will learn attack coverage, team defense, team reception, and team transition. Camp will last from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the 10th, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the 11th, and 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the 12th.

The All-Skills Camp is designed for girls ages 8- 17 and will be held on July 13th and 14th. Attention will be given to individual skills, team strategy, and the improvement of the players' all-around game. Campers of all skill levels are welcome. Both days will feature a 10:00 a.m. start and a 6:00 p.m. end.

The Boys All-Skills Camp will also be held on July 13th and 14th. This camp is designed for boys ages 11-18 and will feature work in individual skills, team strategy, and the improvement of the players' all-around game. Campers of all skill levels are welcome. Both days also feature a 10:00 a.m. start and a 6:00 p.m. end.
