Women's Lacrosse Announces Fall Schedule

Special events and intercollegiate exhibition play highlight busy autumn

Moon Township, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's lacrosse team has finalized its fall schedule, featuring both intercollegiate competition and special events.

The autumn action starts with the first of two Colonial Clinic Days on Sunday, Sept. 13, with the second to take place on Sept. 27. Don't miss this unique opportunity to work and interact with RMU staff and athletes, exploring all the university has to offer.

Additionally, Robert Morris is hosting a Midwest Prospect Day on Saturday, Oct. 3, with fellow Division I programs Lafayette, Detroit, Gardner-Webb, Liberty and Duquesne scheduled to take part. Please click the provided links for more information on how to get involved in both of these events.

The fall competition schedule begins with some fun, as RMU's annual Alumni Game begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19. Following that, on Sunday, Oct. 4, Robert Morris partners with Duquesne in hosting the Pittsburgh Collegiate Playday, with seven D-I and five D-II teams set to participate.

Following trips to Ohio State (Oct. 11) and George Mason (Oct. 17), the Colonials return home to Joe Walton Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 31 for Pittsburgh Collegiate Playday II. Duquesne, Bucknell and Howard will descend on Moon Township for that event.

Finally, the 10th annual Colonial Classic Hope for the Cure Tournament is set for Sunday, Oct. 25. Young players can showcase their skills for college coaches over the course of the day, which includes a clinic and championship-style 7v7 competition for varying age groups and ability levels. Visit the Three Rivers Lacrosse website at 3RL.net for more on the event.

Thanks to the participation of regional lacrosse community in the first nine years of the Colonial Classic, the program has raised nearly $30,000 for both A Glimmer of Hope (a Pittsburgh-area breast cancer research foundation) and the western Pennsylvania chapter of the Huntington's Disease Society of America.

After qualifying for the Northeast Conference tournament for the third time in five years last spring, the Colonials now enter their 12th season of D-I lacrosse.
